Welcome to my website, One Of Seven Studios! My name is Petra, and I'm excited to share my artistic journey with you. Originally from the Netherlands, I now call Texas, USA, home. I’m a primarily self-taught artist who rediscovered my passion for painting in 2023 after a long break. Starting with acrylics, I’ve grown to love the richness and texture of oils, expanding my creative horizons. My art is a heartfelt exploration of emotion—transforming raw feelings into vibrant colors and engaging compositions. Inspired by my lifelong love of fantasy and science fiction, much of my work takes you into surreal worlds, inviting imagination and reflection. At the same time, I enjoy capturing the pure power of human emotion through more relatable pieces. For me, painting isn’t just a hobby; it's a form of meditation and a meaningful way to connect and communicate. I believe art has a special ability to bring people together, inspire thoughtful conversations, and share the simple beauty we all appreciate. In a short time, my work has been recognized with several awards and featured in prestigious Houston-area exhibitions. One of my pieces was even selected for the signature exposition at the Hardy and Nance Galleria, and another received special awards at the Fort Bend Art League show.
